H. Jenny Lu, MD PhD
Dr. Lu is the founder of Innovare Medical. She has distinguished herself in academic medicine as a full-time clinician, educator, and physician-scientist at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Harvard Medical School (HMS) for more than two decades.
She completed her internal medicine residency at New York University Medical Center, followed by a nephrology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Upon completion of her fellowship, Dr. Lu was appointed to the full-time faculty at MGH and HMS and was promoted to Associate Professor of Medicine in 2018.
During her tenure at MGH and HMS, Dr. Lu provided meticulous care to both primary care and hospitalized patients, delivering exceptional medical care to thousands of individuals—particularly those with complex and high-risk medical conditions. In addition to her work at MGH, Dr. Lu served for 15 years as Medical Director of Renal Services at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and provided longitudinal care to dialysis patients in The Kidney Center in Boston.
Dr. Lu is also an internationally renowned medical researcher on kidney and cardiovascular diseases. Her work has been published extensively in leading scientific journals, and supported by a distinguished record of competitive research funding, including multi-million-dollar R01 grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), as well as grants and awards from leading nationally foundations, including the American Heart Association and the American Kidney Fund. Of note, Dr Lu was the sole national recipient of the NephCure Foundation Outstanding Research Grant in 2012 and received the S&R Foundation Ryuji Ueno Award from the American Physiological Society in 2015. Her contributions have also been honored by Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital with multiple distinguished faculty awards.
